Made this so I could take photos or start/stop recording...Pretty simple design, just a bit tedious. This fits the Hackrc Gimbal that uses the 16mm bolt spacing; it bolts directly to the pitch motor and replaces the lower plate, requiring remounting of the gyro/acc to the bottom of the hero case. Uses a cheap light 9g servo to push the shutter button on top of the camera - you have to adjust the settings in your RC TX so the servo only moves just enough to press the button. Start out with the servo travel very low and slowly increase it until it presses the button. I added a small piece of rubber pad to the button to help absorb the pressure from the servo and not push too hard on the camera button. It takes a little trial and error, but works flawlessly once you get it set up. Mount the servo flush to the top of the servo mount tabs so you can slide the camera in and out easily; I use simple rubber bands to hold it in place. Also used some 2.5mm nylon stand-offs to space the case out a little from the motor, balancing the gimbal without needing to add any weight on the outside. If you have the battery in the camera, it will need weight to balance - I use a 5v UBEC to power my camera and no battery installed. Use a small drill bit to carefully drill the two holes to mount the servo; be easy due to the servo tabs could easily be snapped off. If anybody wants this to fit the cheap BG 2 axis gimbal, just post a comment or message me and I will do my best to edit the bolt holes to fit. Added a version to fit the BG gimbal - I have not printed it only printed a small test piece to see if the holes would line up; they are very close but might need a little reaming out to fit perfectly; the file is named "Hero 4 case BG" - it's the one with three holes. Revised the case for the gimbal with the tilt motor on the same side as the lens so it keeps the lens in the center of the gimbal; this is a bit tricky to plug in the AV cable into the USB socket but not too bad, another option would be use the 30pin bus connector on the back of the camera. Also with the battery in the camera it nearly perfectly balances the gimbal. I only added the case for the Hackrc gimbal will add the BG version soon as I get a time to edit it. Added the BG version - I have not printed this one but should work according to the measurements; both the right side versions should be printed as they are with supports; I use only 10% support and it came out fine. Edited: Added a clamp thing that slides over the case to help secure the camera and stop the top servo mount from flexing when it pushes the button; I printed it and it requires a good amount of sanding and filing to get the fit just right; you might try scaling it up by 0.5mm in Cura ect to see if it minimizes the sanding/filing; after a few minutes I got it to fit nice and snug, just took a little work. Enjoy!
