GoPro Hero 3 TPU FPV mount Realacc X5R frame
thingiverse
I've upgraded my GoPro Hero 3 TPU mount to securely fasten it down to my Realacc X5R frame. The original design, compatible with any frame, can be found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3493170. This mount is specifically designed for a GoPro Hero 3 on a freestyle or race drone. I couldn't find a suitable mount to fit my expectations, so I created this one myself. I've uploaded four different angles: 20 degrees, 25 degrees, 30 degrees, and 35 degrees. The mount attaches securely to the top plate of the frame using the screws that go into the standoffs. In this design, I didn't include a cutout for the GoPro's screen since mine is damaged. I've also cleared access to the record and power on/off buttons because they can be difficult to press sometimes. I reduced the thickness of the case from 3mm to 2mm because 3mm was too stiff and stronger than needed. The new 2mm thickness provides more flexibility, reduces weight and print time, yet remains strong enough to hold the GoPro in place – it's still a tight fit, so the GoPro won't be launched in a hard crash. For the best printing results, I recommend printing it on its side with supports. Check out my screenshots of how I set up my supports in Simplify3D.
