GoPro Gyro

GoPro Gyro

My son recently bought a GoPro Hero4 Session camera and I designed the "gyro" for my work with customization by adding a fixture/handle, making it fit the standard GoPro Hero line of accessories. The camera mount can be found here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:53680 and a handle like this one: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:278035 or http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:487964 is also available. Only 4 M5 nuts are required for the middle ring, while the six holes in the outer ring are solely designed to strengthen the geometry. If you plan on using the gimbal with a more expensive (or heavier) camera than the GoPro, you may want to consider using M5 nuts in some of them as well. I would like to extend my gratitude to the community for sharing their designs and encourage everyone to share photos if they decide to create their own. Only 5 STL-files are needed: Ring1_Core + Ring2_Flat + Ring2_HexSide + Ring3 + 4xDybler_8.6_14.2mm. For those who are interested, Gyro_M5_Assembled.stl can be printed in one go and completes in approximately three hours and forty minutes with a print speed of 60 mm/sec and a layer thickness of 0.15 mm. However, it does require some time to clean away support material and "massage" the axis to remove friction. Please note that I have updated the orientation of the handle in relation to the axis since the initial print.
