Gopro float
thingiverse
I recently acquired a float from China, but its diameter is slightly too large for my kids (3 and 6 years old) to grasp comfortably. To address this issue, I designed a new version with a smaller diameter of 30mm, providing a better grip for the young ones. To maximize air intake, I made the walls of the float thin. Additionally, I added a disc to the handle's center to enhance its stability. Despite its positive buoyancy in my GoPro 3+ Hero's watertight housing, the float lacks sufficient buoyancy to support my Gopro Hero 5 Black. Both cameras have similar weights, but the extra air within the GoPro 3+ housing appears to make a significant difference. I created two versions of the float: one with just the float itself and another featuring a thin base for added stability during printing. Initially, I encountered issues with the float breaking away from the printing bed due to vibrations from the printer head as it neared completion. To resolve this problem, I added a base that can be easily removed after printing. The hexagonal hole for the nut is designed to be slightly tight, requiring a bit of force to secure the bolt in place. This approach has the advantage of eliminating the need for gluing the nut into the hole. Printer Settings: Printer Brand: FlashForge Printer: Finder Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Doesn't Matter
