GoPro extension to 17mm ball (motorcycle mount)
thingiverse
This is an extension arm connecting one side to a GoPro helmet mount (self-adhesive style) and the other side featuring a 17mm ball. Its purpose is to attach a wireless charger to a motorcycle, in my case a TaoTronics branded one that's relatively inexpensive. There are two types of those self-adhesive mounts - one has a flat face while the other features a double-curve design. I had to replace the GoPro-style thumb screw with a 4mm hex screw because the thumb screw wouldn't fit between the dashboard and the windshield. This switch makes it harder to tighten, but since it's a one-time adjustment, it's manageable. When printing, use at least 35% infill. I've found that PLA exposed to sunlight for a while eventually hardens and becomes very durable. The key is maintaining high infill rates so the part doesn't distort during this process. Alternatively, you can leave the parts in a preheated oven at 70C for about an hour. After they've hardened, check the fit again and retighten as needed.
