GoPro Egg / Kitchen Timer
thingiverse
This isn't a remake but heavily influenced by previous kitchen timer GoPro mods, notably this one. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:108263 I started with a pretty lousy timer that lay on its side and seemed too bulky to modify, so I took it apart. What I found was the kitchen timer mechanism appears to be almost standard after looking online. My objectives were clear: 1) Keep it as versatile as possible. 2) Utilize the top part to protect the mechanism from rain (it will corrode eventually), which should ensure smooth operation even in rainy conditions. The larger top part has a 58mm diameter and the base is 52mm. 3) Make it easy to print without support, hence why it's divided into three parts. 4) Allow the base to be secured using any existing GoPro mounting system. 5) Remove the metal outer shell that acts like a bell chamber, as we plan to use this while camping and don't need it. The base part is fixed in place with three small screws, then the other pieces simply press together and lock firmly. I have also created smaller BASE and TOP parts labeled as BASIC, without the rain shield and reduced base assembly size, which should cater to different users' needs.
