GoPro / Blendr compatible mount for Columbus V-900 GPS datalogger
thingiverse
The Columbus V-900 _(see note below)_ is a GPS datalogger that I've used previously to track bike rides when I didn't want to run a proper bike computer. Typically, I have it in a pocket but I wanted to have a holder so I could attach it to my handlebars. This device is a holder for the V-900 GPS which may also fit the newer V-990 GPS datalogger. It's compatible with the GoPro mount or the Bontrager Blendr mount. The tab in the front fits into the USB port and locks securely into place. The hole in the back next to the mount is a provision for a tether if you think it's necessary. (you can see I used yo-yo string for my testing in the photos) I ran this on my trail bike and hit the rockiest trails I could find as fast as possible, but the tether wasn't needed. Ultimately, the V-900 is somewhat lacking. You'd think a dedicated GPS datalogger would perform better than a phone GPS, but on the test ride the V-900 drifted across a creek, while the phone followed the path I was riding. So, don't go out and purchase a V-900, only print this if you happen to already own one. So, ultimately this was an opportunity to spend more time playing with Fusion 360 than it was solving an actual problem. **Note:** The GoPro compatible mount on my handlebar is another thing I'll be sharing soon, and it's actually useful.
