I'm Designing a Portable Storage Box for My GoPro Batteries Using OpenSCAD As an enthusiastic photographer, I've always wanted to find a convenient and organized way to store my GoPro batteries while on the go. That's why I decided to create a portable storage box using OpenSCAD, a free and open-source computer-aided design (CAD) software. The design process was relatively straightforward, but it did require some creativity and problem-solving skills. First, I needed to determine the size and shape of the box that would fit my batteries perfectly. After some trial and error, I settled on a rectangular prism with dimensions of 3 inches by 2 inches by 1 inch. Once I had the basic shape defined, I started adding features such as a hinged lid, a locking mechanism, and a series of small compartments for storing additional accessories like memory cards and charging cables. The box also has a built-in stand to hold it upright when not in use. One of the most challenging aspects of this project was ensuring that the design would be both functional and visually appealing. I wanted the box to have a sleek and modern look, while still being able to withstand rough handling and extreme temperatures. To achieve this balance, I used OpenSCAD's advanced features such as Boolean operations, extrusions, and sweeps to create complex shapes and structures. The result is a beautifully designed storage box that not only protects my GoPro batteries but also adds a touch of style to my photography gear. Overall, creating a portable storage box for my GoPro batteries using OpenSCAD was a fun and rewarding experience. Not only did I gain valuable skills in CAD design, but I also ended up with a functional and stylish accessory that makes my photography workflow more efficient.
