Gophert CPS-3205 Front Panel Connector

The Gohpert CPS-3205 and other similar models in the CPS line are incredibly affordable lab bench power supplies, but they come with one major drawback - no front panel connectors. This design addresses that issue by providing a removable front panel. The panel is designed to clip onto the side of the power supply and is sturdy enough for general use. Whether this design will fit other Gohpert CPS models remains uncertain, but it's likely to work with lower-end units and those labeled as CPS-C (EU). However, newer or larger capacity models might require adjustments. Three versions of the design files are provided: an STL file that includes subtractive objects, another STL file where the objects are separated for easier modification, and an OBJ file for a single object. Here are the print settings used: Printer: Turnigy Fabrikator Mini Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 mm Infill: 15% Notes: The PLA was printed at 195C without a heated bed, using only painters tape. Post-Printing Instructions After printing, you can drill the holes to your liking or model them before printing. Surprisingly, the PLA was easy to drill with a slow drill speed to prevent melting. Consider relocating the power switch to the front panel for added convenience. Design Process This design was created using Tinkercad and began with testing whether it could clip onto the cooling fins of the power supply. Once that proved successful, the design was scaled up. A "bump" on the side provides friction to prevent the panel from moving excessively. This solution is a significant improvement over having to route all leads around the back of the power supply, shortening them by nearly a foot.
