GooSky S2 Legend XT30 Holder
thingiverse
Evening All. I've recently got myself one of the excellent GooSky S2 Legend RC helicopters and can never simply leave anything alone ;-) I realised that connecting the main XT30 LiPo connector can be a bit of a fiddle, so thought of a way to fix the models side to the airframe allowing me to simply hold the canopy and connect the XT30 from the battery. This is what I came up with, a two peice design which clamps inside the stock GooSky canopy mounting bracket, clamping onto the small internal stregthening rib of the injection molded part. Now this is still new, I only finished it today, so it may be that we need to glue this price into place to stop if being pushed out of position. Time will tell. I simply snipped off the XT30 connector, poked the wires through the 3D printed top part, then resolded the connector back on and push it back into position. I will use some hot glue on the back of the wires to stop the connector pulling out of the 3D print. I printed this at 0.15mm layer height without support and the hole with the screw recess has a single layer at 0.15mm height so as not to need support material, trim this out of the hole once printed. For the screw I used a small self tapper number 2 size and 6.5mm long Have fun and all feedback is appreciated so I can maybe improve it further. Ian Contessa Update; Already one mod, Richard Van Aken suggested a slot to avoid desoldering the wires, so added the XT30 Holder Top RVA.STL Small change made, to avoid using a brim which is a pain to remove, I added the cross bar linking the two sides of the wire slot. So this helps bed adhesion and simply needs trimming out once printed.
