This is a Gooseneck Gaff Jaw Type originally designed for a 10 foot dinghy sailboat which uses a 0.5 inch boom and a 1.5 inch aluminium mast. It incorporates several features for the application, including holes to tie the mainsail clew, setup a proper downhaul, and it is properly reinforced. This part has been teste in real life and works great! - if you want to adapt this part for your specific boom and/or mast, let me know and i will be happy to modify it for you.
