UPDATED SEP 16, 2019: v1 of the decoy widget was not durable due to its edges. The design could only be printed upright, which unfortunately aligned layer lines with the force exerted on them by the wind, resulting in a high rate of failure. v2 is a minor change that chopped the edges flat and rotated it onto its side to print. When turned upright, the layer lines now run vertically, perpendicular to the force exerted by the wind. Created some goose silos two years ago using templates in the files section, then used 1/4" aluminum welding rod for the legs. This worked okay for a season, but then had a lot of rods bend in the wind or snap when trying to seat them in hard ground. My hunting buddy came up with an improved spike support system design. It uses 12" length 1/2" diameter nails inserted into the spike widget, then seated into the recess under the Decoy widget and secured with epoxy. Silhouettes are made out of 4mm corrugated plastic and slide right into the decoy widget. An STL for a feather template is also attached for spraying the feather pattern onto the decoys. Print two braces and glue them centered on split to reinforce the template.
