Google Homeophone (Acoustic Amplifier for Google Home Mini)
thingiverse
I have a Google Home mini that's having some hearing trouble. No matter what I tried, it rarely responded on the first "Hey Google", and in fact, the one down the hall usually heard me better than the one just 5 feet away from me in the same room. So, I decided to make an old-fashioned horn for it. I designed this neat horn to amplify my voice so it would work better. It didn't quite do that, but as a result, it made a big difference in how loud it was. Now, I can listen to it at a low volume and still hear what it's saying. All you have to do is assemble the Google Homeophone, route the cord through the holes, and put your Google Home mini inside. That's all there is to it. This is the MK1 version of the Google Homeophone. I've already designed an improved version called the MK2, and I'm printing it as I write this. I came up with the name "Google Homeophone" by combining "Google Home" and "Gramophone". It sounds like "Homophone", which suits it just fine since it's a device that helps your Google Home mini hear you better.
