Google Home Hub shelf

Google Home Hub shelf

We needed a compact solution for our Home Hub, but local big-box stores stopped carrying 12" curio shelves. To avoid building one from scratch, I opted to print it instead. After scouting online, I found some shelves specifically designed for the Home Hub, but they were complex, bulky, or didn't meet our expectations. The initial iteration was a minimalist design that held the hub perfectly, yet left no room for the plug protruding from the back. I had to drill holes to secure it to a cabinet. To address this issue, I added a block at the back with a cutout for the plug. This setup worked beautifully with double-sided mounting tape, but proved too small - we couldn't rotate the hub. My wife requested the ability to face the hub towards the kitchen, so I extended the shelf to 6" and maximized its width (9"). I also included a side access port to keep the cord secure. The resulting design is primarily a compact shelf with lines mimicking the Home Hub's radii, which looks great and holds up well with 3M mounting tape. To minimize clutter, I left the cord semi-coiled; it stays put on the shelf and allows us to move the hub freely without looking untidy.
