Google Home Cover
myminifactory
This is a custom cover I designed for a design challenge sponsored by Sindoh. I have several smart home devices and assistants at my disposal. My Google Home Minis are wall-mounted, seamlessly blending in with their surroundings, but the main floor speaker has always looked plain to me. I created this cover to fit over the device while still allowing full operation. The cover features holes in the bottom for sound to escape, as well as its looser fit, ensuring optimal performance. I experimented with several versions of this design, but tightening it up resulted in sound distortion. Given that I primarily use my speakers for music playback, I had to rule out that option. Minimal support structures are suggested for the back rim, but the cover can be printed without them - it just requires some minor cleanup afterwards.
