Raymond Loewy was a renowned French-born American industrial designer who made an indelible mark on the world through his groundbreaking work across multiple industries. A vast majority of his professional life was spent in the United States, where he designed some of the most iconic brands and products of all time. Some of his notable designs include the Shell, Exxon, TWA, and former BP logos, as well as the Greyhound Scenicruiser bus, Coca-Cola vending machines, the Lucky Strike package, Coldspot refrigerators, the Studebaker Avanti and Champion, and the Air Force One livery. He also had a hand in designing numerous railroad projects, including the Pennsylvania Railroad GG1 and S-1 locomotives, as well as the color scheme and Eagle motif for the first streamliners of the Missouri Pacific Railroad. In addition to these notable projects, Loewy was involved in creating numerous other designs for various railroads.
