Good Hank's Movement Holder Vise for Some Smaller Pocket Watches
thingiverse
Similar to my wristwatch movement vise but two-sided for roughly 4 sizes. Basically, sized roughly for 19"',18"', 17"', and 16"' movements. Because the pocket watch movements I have and care about are Unitas 649x and 445, ETA 953, and Landeron 2124. Like my wristwatch movement holder, the recesses are undercut slightly so that the movement can be held tightly and deflection of the end pieces won't eject the movement. Feel free to request another version with different sizes supported. A printable thumb knob is provided as well. You will need a hex head bolt of M5x45 or 50mm, a hex nut to match, two M4x35-40mm dowel pins of any rigid smooth material. My dowel pins are cut from M4 carbon fiber because i already had some. Brass, aluminum, steel, wood, whatever, will work. The spring is optional but recommended. The spring i am using came from a spring assortment i purchased from Harbor Freight Tools. The legend on the inside of the box says 23/64 by 1-3/8. Or roughly 9mm OD 35mm length. Similar sets are sold by many vendors, probably worldwide. A spring isn't necessary but does make it nicer. https://www.harborfreight.com/200-piece-assorted-spring-set-67562.html If there is a common spring that is larger diameter that you want to use, let me know, it is simple to enlarge that recess. All parts print without supports. Remember to relax your shoulders.
