Good Enough Calipers

This is my caliper, and I'm proud to own it. There are many calipers like mine, but this one is uniquely mine. The rack and pinion mechanism comes from a clever design on Thingiverse: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:944471. The screw and bolt were sourced from another innovative project: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1183. Note that the screw has an interesting twist - it's left-handed, so when you turn it counterclockwise to open the calipers, the bolt will tighten instead of loosen. This design choice was intentional, and I recommend remembering the classic phrase "lefty-tighty, righty-loosey" as you assemble the caliper. Supports: Yes, no supports were needed for this design. Resolution: 0.2mm - a high resolution that brought out the fine details of the caliper's design. Infill: 25% - a moderate infill density that provided a good balance between weight and structural integrity.
