Goliath II

Christophe Charbonnel burst onto the scene in Nantes in 1967, armed with a passion for sculpture that would drive him for 17 years. After cutting his teeth as a cartoonist at Walt Disney studios in Montreuil, he made the bold switch to full-time sculptor in 2002 and has been steadily building momentum ever since. Christophe's artistic vision is firmly rooted in ancient heroes and mythology, and this particular piece brings the mighty giant Goliath to life. Despite working primarily with bronze, Charbonnel's rough, realistic style strikes a perfect balance between powerful profiles and expressive faces, and fluid anatomy and delicate shape - a true masterclass in sculptural technique.
