Golf Ball Valve
thingiverse
This is an innovative approach to hand dredging for gold using 2" PVC and 2-golf ball valves. A valve utilizes a standard golf ball. The concept relies on attaching the valve to a 2" length of PVC via a 2" PVC coupler, which is then secured with a sanitary tee or tee. A hole is drilled through the coupler approximately 3" above the valve and sealed with silicone. As a result, the golf ball is trapped by the up-pull against the bolt and seals to the valve on the down stroke, forcing the fluid out of the tee, which is situated just above the bolt. Another valve is attached to the tee as an exhaust-only valve that permits water exit only. On the pull-up motion of the plunger, the exhaust ball closes and the intake ball opens. Conversely, when the plunger is pushed, the opposite occurs with the balls. I will upload a drawing of the dredge soon. This project remains a work in progress.
