Golf Ball Retriever Replacement Head
thingiverse
My wife had one of those clever spring-loaded golf ball retrievers that scoop up balls with ease, but it had its weak spot where the head connected to the handle - no surprise, really. The telescoping handle was salvageable, so I decided to build my own robust head with a stronger attachment point. I wanted simplicity, ease of printing, and functionality all in one design, and this seemed to hit all three marks. The large scoop-shaped opening grabs the ball securely, while the cavity is spacious enough to keep it from escaping easily - the lip inside helps hold it snugly in place. Meanwhile, a smaller hole allows water or mud to drain out without any hassle. Once I attached the mount to my handle (approximately 9.7mm), everything fit perfectly. If your handle size differs, you might need to adjust the design accordingly; I've included the Sketchup file so you can make the necessary changes. To assemble, simply slide this onto your golf ball retriever's handle and drill a hole through the small mounting point - I used a 2-56 machine screw for added stability.
