A golf ball is uniquely designed for playing golf. According to golf rules, it must weigh no more than 45.93 grams, have a diameter of at least 42.67 millimeters and meet specific velocity, distance, and symmetry requirements. Golf balls, like clubs, are tested and approved by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews and the United States Golf Association. Non-conforming golf balls are not permitted in competitions.
