Its native format is .skp, while 3ds Max scenes use version 2016 of the software, with rendering handled by Vray 3.00 The company has a hub based in Keflavik. It was officially established on May 12 , 2013. When the company began, it operated two MD-80's. On June 2, 2013, the company sold its MD-80's and bought three MD-83's. By June 6, 2013, GoldenJet had received two Gulfstream G550 jets from Royal Airways [now defunct], which were previously a subsidiary of GoldenJet but is now out of business. These jets needed to be reworked into commercial versions and GoldenJet finished doing that on June 7, 2013. On March 5th, 2014, the company sold two MD-83's to Golden Moose Airways in exchange for buying two Boeing 757-217W aircraft for a symbolic price of 41,506,789USD. Subsequently, the company purchased one more Boeing 757-217W aircraft. By July 28th, the company received delivery of five Bombardier Challenger 300 jets and remodeled them to make them commercial planes, all on the same date that it added 5 regional Icelandic routes. On November 19th, GoldenJet got its hands on three Airbus A340-200 aircraft from V2 Airlines as they were being accounted for more like debris than anything else. By November 23rd, GoldenJet's mechanics finished restoring these aircraft to working order. The company purchased a Boeing 767-308 from Isen Air Inc. at the same time it received the Airbus jets, which just happened to be on November 19th. On January 1, 2015, the company spent 105,800,000USD purchasing five Airbus A310-300 jets equipped with PW4000 engines from Trojan Air, Inc. By January 16, 2015, GoldenJet had taken possession of its newly purchased aircraft. As things currently stand, the company operates 20 routes but it's been planning on adding much more in the future. It offers services to various destinations including Akureyri, Höfn, Isafjordur, Husavik, Saudarkrokur, Egilsstadir, Grimsey, Nuuk, London, Manchester, Amsterdam & Rotterdam, with those latter two operated by Europe-United Airlines.
