Now added a new version that is even cleaner and fixes a couple small noticeable issues with the previous one. Hope you enjoy! This solution provides auto bed leveling, made as simple as possible. Since I haven't run this through my personal tests yet, I've labeled it as work in progress. To see for yourself, you need 4 springs (probably 3 will do), which I used from a spring assortment kit that can be found at Home Depot (located in the door hardware area). This allows swapping out almost anything on your hot end or replacing the hot end entirely without touching Marlin or any settings. Set the z-probe offset to the distance between the set screw and switch in pressed position. Once you've done this, unless you adjust the set screw, you can swap out any hot end and won't have to reconfigure. The switch I used is from RadioShack: https://www.radioshack.com/products/spdt-switch-without-roller?variant=5717496645 Other switches might fit and it shouldn't be hard to modify this for another switch once you find one. Once the switch is installed, get familiar with how it gets wired according to this article: http://reprap.org/wiki/Mechanical_Endstop Please feel free to make any suggestions as I'm always looking to improve my printer. Here's a list of screws used: (3) 3 mm x 16 mm (2) 2.5 mm x 16 mm (3) 3 mm x 24 mm And 3 appropriately sized springs along with their respective nuts. Check out this short video showing it in action! https://youtu.be/l_VesPKXz7g Longer video of auto leveling and then printing the cute Octopus: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUAceB9UwOI I've also uploaded my version of Marlin I'm using, but to be honest, I'm not sure what modifications I made to it. So use at your own risk, always a good idea to double check that the safety features you want are enabled. **Printer Settings** Printer: BIO Kossel Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 50% Notes: This was printed at half my usual speed as it's such an important part of the printer, I wanted it to be perfect. Fine tuning You may need to file or drill through some holes so screws can easily pass through them, depending on your printer's accuracy.
