For a brand new and improved version on my own website, go to https://www.designuitinspiratie.nl/gouden-golf-lamp/ for an even newer presentation! This is a state-of-the-art LED Lamp based on an upside-down vase design. It consists of two main parts. Depending on the light source I choose, I print the base in ABS because my LEDs and resistors can get extremely hot! However, if you're using a non-heating light source, you can definitely use a different material than ABS. Check out the pictures to see how I handle the light source. It's an aluminum piece that I machined down so I could thermally bond the LEDs in place. For the RED and GREEN LEDs, I used 47Ohm resistors to dim them slightly, making the BLUE LED appear brighter by comparison. My power source is a USB charger. The Lamp Shade is printed using the "Spiral Outer Contour Mode" in Cura with one bottom layer and a nozzle size of 0.4mm. The lamp shade is printed upside-down (the orientation should already be correct when loaded into the slicer program). I used Gold PLA for this print, but if I were to make it again, I'd definitely use Translucent PET-G instead – PLA lets less light through. Here are the settings I used in Cura to print the base in ABS: 0% infill, no top layers, Z Seam Alignment set to "Shortest", three bottom layers, and a wall thickness of 1.6mm. Keep in mind that these settings are specifically designed for a 0.4mm nozzle size – printing time will be longer due to the nature of ABS. By the way, the original size of the Lamp Shade is 271.1mm, which is what I used to test its fit with the base. Scaling this model down too much might cause fitting issues, but I haven't tested it extensively. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to ask! Do you think I've forgotten something? Please let me know if there's anything else I should be aware of.
