The beautiful burial mask rested directly atop the bandages covering the mummy's face with a radiant countenance. Its eyes shone wide open, its golden complexion and blue turban radiating the divine state achieved by the deceased. To the ancient Egyptians, gods were revered for their skin of gold and hair of lapis lazuli. The artifact vanished in the flames on September 2, 2018.
