Goldberg polyhedron I {3,3}, 12/27 truncation
sketchfab
This geodesic sphere bears striking resemblance to the outer framework of one of the Eden Project domes in Cornwall, UK. A class II, 6v icosahedral starting point was used to generate its dual through Antiprism's pol_recip program (www.antiprism.com). The resulting dual was then truncated above the equator with Excel's assistance. If you envision this polyhedron as a slice of Earth, San José, Costa Rica's capital, would sit just north of the truncation plane.
