Gold-weight in the form of concave open-work shield at The British Museum, London
myminifactory
Lost wax cast figurative goldweight, in brass, takes the form of a concave rectangular shaped openwork shield frame decorated with representations of 12 crotal bells at intersections. On the reverse side, there is a representation of a handle to hold onto. A patch of grey coloured metal solder appears in the bottom right hand corner. A proverb associated with this weight says: 'If you have a shield and if you strike yourself thirty times with it, we won't blame you.' This object is part of "Scan The World". Scan the World is a non-profit initiative introduced by MyMiniFactory. Through it, we are creating a digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks and landmarks from across the globe for public access at no cost.
