I don't have a power box for this yet, but I have an idea where I want it. However, I've decided to start on the radial stacker first before moving on to the power box. So, essentially, this project is on hold for now. To get started, you'll need: * 1 x 12V battery * About 4 switches * 1 x GM9 hobby gear box (single shaft preferable, but a dual shaft will do) * 8 x 23/64x1-3/8 springs * 3 x hobby motors (numbers can be found in the shaker motor folder) * 1 x 12V marine water pump * 1 x LM2596 DC-DC converter to convert the 12V battery to 3V for the shaker motors For dry play, you can use kitty litter. It works really well through the system. For both dry and wet play, I recommend using plastic pellets. Catgenie pellets would work perfectly and are available in multiple colors to resemble pay dirt. However, I'll be using all my recycled ABS with my pelletizer to make pellets and rocks, and I might also buy some catgenie pellets. A rock generator for OpenSCAD is included to demonstrate the separation of small rocks from the screens at the front of this thing. This trommel is designed to be taken apart, so only glue the parts that are mentioned below. All diagrams can be found in the parts folders. For gluing, I use acetone to combine all parts, especially the spray bars, which makes them watertight. To assemble the stair parts, print and glue them together using heat shrink tubing to connect the rails. Print the frame parts and glue them according to the diagram using I Beam joints. You'll need to make two frames. Print 12 cross I Beams and 24 90deg I Beam connectors. Print the tumbler parts and glue all of them together except for the drive gear, which should be secured with 4 small grub screws. Print the tumbler spray bars and glue them together. However, do not glue the support arms to the spray bars; instead, glue the back support to the shaker shoot according to the diagram. Print the tumbler screens using PLA. Print all shoot parts and glue half's together. In this folder, print the shaker motors (you'll need 3 of these). Print 2 roller motor blocks with hydraulic motors and 2 motor blocks without hydraulic motors. Simply press-fit the rollers onto the blocks with their shafts. Print all shaker parts and glue the floor halves and shaker halves together. Print all shaker spray parts and glue them according to the diagram, but do not glue this assembly to the spray bar supports; instead, they should sit on top of it. Glue the spray bar supports, but do not attach them to the floor; they simply fit into the holes. Insert 6 I Beam cross members through the motor blocks and motor rollers. Insert one I Beam cross member through the shoot shaker. Press-fit 90deg I Beam connectors onto the ends of all cross-member I Beams. Do not glue them yet. Set one side frame down flat and glue one side of the 90deg I Beam connectors to it. Use a removable glue for the first fittings, as you'll need to re-position them a few times for fit. I use multi-purpose cement that holds really well for a permanent fit and can be removed if needed. You can also use a hot glue gun. Then, glue the other side frame to the 90deg connectors. The shaker deck simply slides on top to lock the back halves together, while the front shoot slides onto the front halves to lock them in place. Glue the grizzly bars hinge to the side frame according to the diagram. To use the water jets, everything needed is included in the water pump folder. You'll need 1/2 inch hose and 8mm ID hoses, as well as ball valves. All that's left to do is assemble them. Unfortunately, I don't have a place to test the water jets, so I've only been able to test each water bar individually. If you have a place to set this up with water, please post a picture of it in action; that would make my dreams come true!
