Dame Elisabeth Frink is one of Britain's top figurative sculptors. She was born in Thurlow, Suffolk, where she studied at Guildford School of Art and later returned to teach at Chelsea School of Art in London. Her bronze statues often featured horses or male nudes. Although she was renowned for her sculptures, Frink was also a dedicated printmaker who produced many works. In addition to her art, she completed numerous public commissions. By 1982, she had been honored as Dame of the British Empire. This sculpture, Goggle Man, is one of seven in a series created between 1959 and 1972 using bronze.
