Godzilla
thingiverse
This is my interpretation of Godzilla, loosely based on the 1975 30cm Toho Godzilla toy. I'm really proud of how this model turned out, especially considering it's only my second serious attempt at modeling something in Sculptris. I think it looks pretty good and I'm excited to keep working on it. One thing I'd like to do is add some texture to the skin to give it a more realistic look. I've been experimenting with different techniques and I think I've found one that will work well for this model. I also want to split the model up into pieces, which should make it easier to print and possibly even allow me to make the arms articulated in the shoulder. This would really help to give Godzilla a more dynamic look and make him less stiff-looking. Update: I had some issues with my first print, but after fixing the mesh, my second print turned out great at 10 cm. I've swapped out the old STL file on this page for the fixed one, so you should be able to get a better result if you decide to print it.
