Tlaloc, Aztec Deity at the National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City. Tehuacan, Puebla (900-1521 AD) Tlaloc was a revered god in the Aztec pantheon. As supreme ruler of rain, Tlaloc also controlled earthly fertility and water. He was widely respected as a benevolent provider of life and nourishment. However, he was also feared for unleashing hail, thunderstorms, and lightning, and for being the master of powerful water forces. Tlaloc is associated with caves, springs, and mountains, particularly the sacred mountain where he resided. His animal forms include herons and aquatic creatures like amphibians, snails, and possibly sea animals, especially shellfish. Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tlaloc
