God of Music, Carved Stone - Cross Polarized
sketchfab
I'm going to capture a shiny object using the GIGAmacro and cross-polarizing, then convert it into a high-resolution model that isn't shiny anymore. This time around, however, I got an interesting result - the image came out mirrored along its vertical axis. It still looks pretty cool. One thing to keep in mind is that the planar nature of GIGAmacro scans makes it tough to accurately capture the thickness of a slab. Maybe I'll combine this scan with one from a turntable later on. The scans were done by AISOS, which is part of LATIS Labs at the University of Minnesota's College of Liberal Arts in the Twin Cities area.
