God Horus Protecting King Nectanebo II is a remarkable statue from ancient Egypt's Late Period. It was created during the reign of Dynasty 30, specifically between 360 and 343 B.C. The sculpture's origins are attributed to Heliopolis (Ain Shams), where it was said to be the tomb of a sacred Mnevis bull. This magnificent work of art is made from meta-greywacke, measuring 72 cm in height, 20 cm in width, and 46.5 cm in depth, with an impressive weight of 55.3 kg. It is now part of The Metropolitan Museum of Art's collection, acquired through the Rogers Fund in 1934 and designated as accession number 34.2.1.
