Gocupi gondola with ~30mm diameter pen holder
thingiverse
This is another gondola designed for use with the Gocupi, printed using PLA at a 25% infill level. The gondola features a large-diameter pen holder, approximately 30mm in size, specifically engineered to accommodate larger pens such as the Sharpie Magnum. I employed sealed bearings sourced from eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/400947587154\r\nHoles were drilled into the ends of the arms, allowing for the use of 2mm nuts/bolts that easily slip onto the end clips of the stepper motors. This design makes it simple to detach the gondola from the motors. Small sheet-metal screws secure the servo motor into place within the bottom holder. Two thin rings serve as spacers, separating the bearings from the main housing and each other. I am currently working on developing shims for pens of varying sizes to fit comfortably in the holder. A likely candidate for these shims is a type of spongy foam material.
