A practical application of the 3D printed model has been proposed as a training tool for dogs and their owners. The device, which can be carried by drones, allows dogs to retrieve balls at varying distances while providing exercise and interaction between owner and pet. Additionally, it may help slow down the onset of Alzheimer's in some owners through daily mental exercise of maneuvering the drone. The basic frame was designed without rafts or supports for easy 3D printing, with adapter rings available to adjust ball size. This design is a combination of previous landing pod and drop tank entries, tailored for this specific application while adhering to the 3D-print only requirement. A fun idea suggested is a drone obstacle course where racers navigate as fast as possible without losing the ball. Credit goes to J. Johnson for providing the tennis ball model used in the design.
