Solar-Powered Gnome Light: A DIY Project Transform your outdoor space with a charming solar-powered gnome light, easily made using a cheap $5 solar walkway light from Lowes. Simply remove the LED and extend it to create a lamp, taking note of the polarity on the LED before removing it from the board. Mark the positive leg with a sharpie for reference. The process is relatively quick: printing takes about an hour, installing the LED takes around 10 minutes, and painting depends on your level of detail and tidiness. To ensure a smooth print job, rotate the model and place it in the bed with the box facing upwards. Use supports to help the model retain its shape during printing.
