I created this camera housing so I could point a sensitive camera to take pictures of the night sky.

The "Global Meteor Network" (https://globalmeteornetwork.org) created a RaspberryPi image that automatically takes pictures, analyses them and returns data to the GMN.

I bought a Sony IMX291 camera and an Acrylic dome on the internet.
Although I use a 1.7mm lens, better is to work with a 3.5mm lens.
I use a aluminium bracket on my roof, where I slide over the housing when good theater is expected.

Materials needed:
Sony IMX 291 IP camera: https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/4000104015604.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.41f64c4dMEgCPM
Acrylic dome: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33058320421.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.145f4c4dI8APjw
Raspberry Pi4: https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/raspberry-pi-4?variant=29157087412307

I glued the dome to the top part, to make it (hopefully) water tight.

Print instructions

Print in PETG. The provided GCODE of the bottom part has an extra modifier for more infill near the bracket connecting it to my roof.
