This is a purpose-built Chimera extruder mount specifically designed for the gMax printer from gCreate. It cleverly reroutes the x-axis belt through the x-axis v-slot extrusion to securely conceal and shield the belt. The design also effectively minimizes the pulling that causes twist on the ends of the x-axis due to belt tension. The horizontally positioned plate for the extruder skillfully reduces the z-axis footprint, thereby providing a slightly increased z-height. One area that requires redesign is the fan shroud and fan bracket - it didn't meet expectations initially, but fortunately, I haven't had to revisit it yet because the airflow from the Chimera has been sufficiently cooling the PLA materials I've been printing with. The mount plate incorporates a socket for attaching an rj45 keystone to manage the fan, led, and thermistor wiring. Although this design can be quite challenging to assemble, it has proven to be reliable once completed without any issues.
