GM Door Lock Trim/Clamp

GM Door Lock Trim/Clamp

This is modelled on the General Motors door lock part, which functions as both a clamp to fix the locking lever to the internal rod, and as trim finishing piece. The major problem with the original part is that it's virtually impossible to remove without breaking or disfiguring it and/or the surrounding trim. Replacements are also difficult to acquire outside of Europe and the UK. This design incorporates a slot on one side to provide a levering point for a precision screwdriver or similar tool. This makes removal much easier. I have test printed this part with success using both PLA and ABS. The heat intolerance of PLA could make it unsuitable for a potentially hot vehicle interior but you may get away with it. The ABS print was easy and not subject to any warping even on an open printer due to the small size of the part. Print the part upright (as shown in the red, perspective render), not facedown as illustrated in the Thingiverse generated image. Supports are not required and only use a raft if you think you'll have issues with bed adhesion. On the BuildTak type surface of my printer there were no such problems. The original part is utilised on the Lotus Elan (M100) and various General Motors vehicles from Holden (Commodore), Vauxhall (Carlton), and Opel. This model is compatible with part numbers 90286850 and A100B6151H.
