This tool, used with a 1" ratchet strap, aids to compress the 4L60E Servo unit while the installer places the snap ring. In the case where a TransGo kit has been installed, there are two additional cushion springs, and this requires much greater pressure to push the servo body before installing the snap ring. The TransGo kit also has a shim, further extending the servo body from the case. So use a 1" ratchet strap, short hook to the non-valve body face, and long strap hook wrapped around the case (with or without the pan installed), and hook the strap hooks together. Let the ratchet strap body set into the contoured slot, and click it down enough to compress the servo into the case. Once the case snap ring groove is visible, install the snap ring, then slowly release the ratchet strap. Use a dead-blow to knock on the cap a few times to ensure the cap and snap ring are completely and properly seated.
