A rear main seal installer for a GM 2.4 liter Equinox/Terrain is designed specifically with a unique thread pattern on the inner cone that allows it to be securely fastened with a threaded rod. The inner cone also features two precision-cut holes, perfectly sized to accommodate 19.5mm diameter washers that bolt directly onto the crankshaft using the flexplate bolts. To install the seal, slide the inner cone onto the crankshaft and then position the larger outer cone over it, securing everything with a strong nut. For added protection, use as large a washer as possible on the outer cone to prevent cracking during installation. Additionally, printing the inner cone at an angle can help prevent the seal from rolling when installing. UPDATE: The inner cone has been redesigned to fit snugly around the index in the crankshaft, providing a secure fit and optimal performance. Furthermore, the outer holes have been enlarged to accommodate chrome sockets, allowing users to easily install the flexplate bolts with ease.
