Glueless 1/10 RC car wheels
thingiverse
Glueless wheels for 1/10 RC cars are now available, with more sizes to come if I can find matching tires to test them. They feature 12mm hexes.\r\n\r\n*I have yet to try the 2WD front wheels.*\r\n\r\nDonations via PayPal are welcome if you'd like me to continue sharing my designs..\r\n\r\nIn the 80's, many competitive cars used three-piece wheels and tires that didn't always require glue. I believe this was a good thing because it allowed for frequent tire or wheel changes.\r\n\r\nThese wheels match the offset of competition wheels from Schumacher and conform to regulations in width and diameter. The central ring is larger than the 60 mm diameter limit, but I'm not sure if that affects rule makers. It's hidden inside the tire. Both 4WD and 2WD cars can use the rear wheel, while the front wheel is mainly for 4WD but also fits 2WD cars with a 12mm hex.\r\n\r\nThe wheels I printed spin perfectly true, unlike many one-piece wheels on the market. It's also possible to reassemble them if a tire is installed incorrectly, whereas glued tires are less forgiving. \r\n\r\nThere are two ring sizes available: some tires need the loose ring and others require the tight ring. I used Schumacher 2.2" tires with the loose ring and cheap Chinese tires with the tight ring. If needed, you can resize the rings in your slicer or adjust them by hand if a tire can't be assembled properly. The tire will appear strained without the ring, but it needs to be snug for secure placement.\r\n\r\nIf desired, punch a hole in the tire carcass to allow air circulation.\r\n\r\nTo assemble these wheels, you'll need:\r\n-4x M2x6 screws for each front wheel\r\n-4x M2x12 screws for each rear wheel
