Glue Bottle Replacement Tip
thingiverse
The nozzle from my Cyano Acrylate bottle has failed, thankfully, the threads still work, however the large model's tip is too bulky to be of much value as a glue nozzle for CA, but it may function well with white glues. I have updated the file to include a significantly smaller applicator tip specifically designed for superglues, this new version printed better than before but unfortunately had difficulties printing due to an overhang. Additionally, my printer had issues fully printing the tip portion and so I've made a slight adjustment - scale the tip up by 1.1 if you're facing the same problem with your bottle cap not fitting properly. For my Printrbot 1405 and other models like it, the revised4 file features an inclined overhang to resolve any printing problems, and is also resized slightly for better compatibility with the existing glue nozzle. I'll soon attempt a new print of this model and evaluate its success rate in comparison to its previous iteration. Alternatively, there's the revised 4 flat design, where I've altered the cap for more flexibility - it can now be printed in two separate pieces should you encounter overhang printing issues on your machine. Fusion360 has allowed me to work out instructions while experimenting with CA glues and this ongoing process has taught me valuable lessons. The previous model fared well when printed using 0.4mm shell thickness and a 0.1mm layer height, unfortunately though the nozzle didn't print very cleanly due to overhang difficulties. I was able to isolate it from the nut during printing but will aim to make this unnecessary in upcoming revisions. Revised4 now sports a cone-like shape as an effort to facilitate one-piece printing and if you do need separate parts - the original model's flat section has been retained. Cura still slices poorly when handling tips while Repetier works well. A print using the rev 4 did go relatively smoothly however required joining two different codes via slicing. You can disregard the "fat tip" version unless a unique application presents itself as superglue performance in this instance won't live up to expectations - especially with regards to syringe applicators.
