glucometer FreeStyle Optium Neo case
thingiverse
I just got my hands on a brand new glucose meter, the Freestyle FreeStyle Optium Neo. So I set out to create another case, similar to one I made before - you can check it out here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2828367. My goal was to design a case for my new glucometer that would allow me to easily pick up the probe stick, place it in the meter, pinch myself and take the sugar reading without having to open the box and risk everything spilling out - especially in the morning when I'm already running on empty. To achieve this, I used a small piece of filament for the axis of the hinge. I printed the box with the slider cap in place, and much to my surprise, there were no issues separating it. In a second test, I printed just the slider and snapped it into place with a bit of force. However, after printing, I discovered that a magnet alone wasn't enough to keep the sticks from popping out, so I had to close it up with a screw. But don't worry - this updated version includes a closing tab to ensure the lid stays tightly shut.
