glowing flame night light thing
thingiverse
I created this thing in Rhino, though I'm not entirely certain what it's intended to be, its resemblance to flames caught my eye and I decided to run with that idea! This was printed in clear PET+ from MadeSolid, with single-layer Simplify 3D using the spiral vase mode. Color-changing LED tea lights from SuperBrightLeds are used - these slowly cycle through a range of colors. Available at https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/novelty-lighting/submersible-rgb-led-tea-lights-led-candle-lights-floralytes/1416/3271/ When printing, if the single perimeter layer just above the light doesn't print correctly and falls out - don't worry; this is the way it's supposed to be. If a bridge forms instead, you can easily fix it by gently pushing the defective area with your finger. This design works best in this way because of the hole situated just above the light, allowing for an optimal shine through. I've also uploaded a revised version - essentially the same model used previously, but with a small twist to give it a fresh look.
