GlowDome - Night Light
thingiverse
I have an utterly ridiculous junk drawer in my office cluttered with items I really should get rid of. This tiny container houses a broken LED pcb, which I'm surprised still works. It's also big enough to fit a tea light inside, casting adorable little dots on the ceiling. There are two bottom pieces, but you only need one for this project. One is standard size and matches the diameter of the top, while the other is smaller, giving the dome a subtle mushroom shape. When printing the Top, make sure to use support that touches the build-plate. I'm pretty sure I borrowed the thread design from someone else, but I've forgotten who. My version includes miscellaneous bits like an old cell phone battery, a broken LED pcb, a micro usb breakout board, and a lithium charging circuit. The battery lasts so long that I only need to charge it every few weeks. It's perfect for keeping tabs on the kids at night or as a low-key night light. If anyone wants it, I can post the version with holes for a switch and micro-usb.
