Glovershaw Circular Structure
sketchfab
This mysterious circle of stones lies just a stone's throw from Glovershaw quarry in the north of Shipley Glen, West Yorkshire, England. Details about this structure are scarce, but it first surfaced in 1955 within the Cartwright Memorial Hall Museum Archaeology Group Bulletin. Beyond being a 'circle of stones', pinpointing its type is tricky due to its unusual size - measuring just 3 metres in diameter. A slight depression at its centre could be a sign of excavation, while a gentle rise on the south-west side might be spoil, though without further digging, this remains mere speculation. Within a 200-metre radius, several prehistoric rock carvings come into view, along with two clear ring cairns and two more enigmatic 'ring ditches' whose origins are shrouded in mystery. This area is an absolute treasure trove of ancient secrets!
