Glock Gen 5 extended mag release
thingiverse
While the stock gen 5 Glock mag release is better than older models, I still didn't like having to slightly adjust my hold to drop a mag. This mag release helps solve that by sitting right up under the thumb, and with just a very slight downward pressure (towards the bottom of the grip/ the mag release, not towards the frame, if that makes sense: ie, you won't accidentally depress the mag release), keeping your grip hold virtually unchanged. (Mag release button is currently only set up for right-handed users, but feel free to change it as you see fit! The mag release body itself is reversible for left-handed users. Somewhat messy model, but makes no difference when actually printed out.) Tested on an airsoft (VFC) G45, this should be compatible with any real Gen 5 Glock as well. Uses and M3x8 screw (pan, hex head, preferred) Printed with PETG at .1 mm layer height and 100% infill (best results for me), the combined print time for both part should be about 40 minutes. Works just fine straight off the printer, but a little sanding might help if there's any friction. The mag release spring retention slot in the mag release body is moved further back to increase the tension to help avoid accidentally releasing the mag, given that the travel is pretty short to release the mag. Personal settings/ specs: Almost stock Ender 3 Overture PETG Nozzle: 240 Bed: 60 Part cooling fan: off Slicer: Cura print speed: 50 mm/s Retraction distance: 6 mm Retraction speed: 40 mm/s Support: on, touching buildplate Adhesion: none
