Globe or Sphere Display Stand
prusaprinters

Stand I designed as a remix from similar designs by momomona and tavsanoglu, for the moon i printed from the (amazing) design by moononournation. I wanted to print it as a single piece instead of three pieces in momomona's design, and I wanted to add fillets to improve print quality versus tavsanoglu's design.

As shown, this is a 2.5" cube (outer boundaries) with 0.5" leg cross-sections displaying a 5" moon model. If you want your sphere to "sit" on the three tallest points, the cube dimension minus the leg cross section should be <= the sphere radius. If you want it to "nest" inside the stand and be tangent to the three inner faces, that dimension should be > the sphere radius.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Creality

Printer:

Ender 5

Rafts:

Doesn't Matter

Supports:

No

Resolution:

.24

Infill:

20%

Filament: Tianse Wood PLA Wood

Notes:

Printed this with Wood PLA by Tianse. It was very finicky trying to balance adhesion and warping. I ended up using a .24 layer height and a .8 nozzle with lots of settings to try and reduce stringing and seaming along sharp, overhung corners.
